2013 Kinmen Trip: An Overview

We returned to Kinmen in the summer of 2013 and added a few posts about places I had missed the first time around. As for the sights I had already written about—or only visited in passing this time—I gathered their photos here to make one overview post XD

Gugang Tower

We began with a walk around Gugang Tower. It did not become a separate post, so a few scenes from the visit are collected here instead.

Juguang Tower

Next came Juguang Tower. Even though it was a familiar landmark, I still could not resist taking a few more photos.

Zhaishan Tunnel

At Zhaishan Tunnel, the journey moved from the open air into one of Kinmen’s military sites. The spaces inside and outside the tunnel had very different moods, and the photos tell this part of the trip better than a long explanation could.

Houhu Beach

After leaving the tunnel, we headed to Houhu Beach. The wide coastal view gave the trip an entirely different rhythm.

Qionglin Village

We had visited Qionglin before, but still took our time wandering through the village again. Among its old houses and lanes, there always seemed to be another corner worth stopping for.

We also found a wind lion god tucked into a wall.

Kinmen Botanical Garden

Kinmen Botanical Garden was our next stop. A leisurely walk through the greenery added a change of scenery to a trip filled mostly with historic sites.

Shangyi Beach

Our last stop was Shangyi Beach. A final set of seaside photos closes this slightly patchwork overview of a trip that still managed to cover quite a lot of Kinmen.
